How the Centroid Swap-Out Programs Works
Accidents happen. Whether a control board was damaged by incorrect wiring, electrical damage, or a probing system suffered an unfortunate crash, the Centroid Swap-Out Program provides a lower-cost alternative to purchasing a brand-new replacement.
Our swap-out products are intended for customers replacing an existing damaged Centroid component. They are not new product purchases.
Standard Swap-Out Procedure
- Purchase the appropriate Swap-Out product for your damaged component and provide any requested serial number or identifying information during checkout.
- Centroid Support will create an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and email you complete return instructions, including your RMA number and shipping address.
- Ship your damaged component to Centroid following the instructions provided in the RMA email. Unless otherwise noted on the product page, only the failed component should be returned—do not include accessories, cables, power supplies, or other items that are not requested.
- After your return has been received, inspected, and matched to your RMA, Centroid will ship your replacement component using the shipping method selected during checkout.
Need Your Replacement Faster?
Because swap-out products require the original component to be returned, the fastest way to receive your replacement is to minimize transit time both directions.
Customers needing the quickest turnaround may:
- Select an expedited shipping method for the replacement order during checkout.
- Ship their damaged component back to Centroid using an expedited carrier service (such as UPS 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air).
Please note that Centroid cannot ship the replacement until the returned component has been received and processed.
International Customers
For customers outside the United States, return shipping costs may exceed the value of the component being exchanged.
In these situations, Centroid may approve an alternative return process, such as providing detailed high-resolution photographs of the damaged component instead of returning it. These exceptions are evaluated case-by-case and must be approved by Centroid Support before a replacement is shipped.
Additional Information
- Swap-out products may consist of either new or factory-refurbished components depending on current inventory.
- Every replacement component is fully tested before shipment.
- Warranty coverage, when applicable, is described on the individual product page and may vary by product.
- Any software licenses associated with eligible control boards will be transferred to the replacement board where applicable.
- Product-specific return requirements (such as returning a BBG with an Acorn board or excluding accessories) are listed on the individual Swap-Out product page.
